A solar buyer is comparing a monthly loan payment against a monthly electricity bill. They are not in pain, nothing is broken, and there is no deadline except a rebate or a rate change. That makes solar unusually resistant to the tactics that work everywhere else in the trades. Urgency does nothing, but a clear, specific answer about payback, financing and what happens when the roof needs replacing does a great deal.
The category also carries baggage. Enough homeowners have been sold badly by door-knockers and lease resellers that skepticism is the default posture, and the businesses winning now are the ones that read as engineers rather than salespeople. Meanwhile the fastest-growing part of most solar accounts is not new systems at all. It is battery storage, and repair work on other people's bad installations, which is a completely different search with a completely different mood.
